The world wide spread of the corona virus disease (COVID-19) has had a broad impact on our daily lives. Thailand has closed its borders to most international travelers since March and it looks ever more unlikely that borders will reopen for international visitors in time for the 27th edition of the Laguna Phuket Triathlon on 22 November 2020.

The event is still going ahead as planned with special hygiene and distancing measures in place but will likely be limited to Thai and foreign participants currently in the country. We understand that this will be disappointing for so many of you who have been looking forward to the event. The first question for most will be about their entry fee. There are several options:

• Your entry will automatically be transferred to the 2021 event set to take place on 21 November 2021. No action is required for that. In addition, you will receive a THB 1,000 food & beverage voucher to be redeemed at Xana Beach Club during the 2021 event week. (Conditions apply).
• Join our solidarity campaign and donate your 2020 entry to a local participant. Thailand and Phuket in particular with its dependence on tourism has been exceptionally hard hit by the economic impact of the pandemic. Many people including local triathletes have been affected economically and currently don’t have the means to afford the entry fee for the event. You can provide some hope and show solidarity by donating your entry to a local participant. Simply send an email to our online registration partner GotoRace at info@gotorace.com and let us know that you would like to donate your entry. Participants donating their entry will also receive a THB 1,000 food & beverage voucher to be redeemed at Xana Beach Club during the 2021 event week. (Conditions apply).
• Request a refund. For a refund of your entry fee, please contact our online registration partner GotoRace at info@gotorace.com. The deadline for a refund request is 15 October 2020. Requests after the deadline will not be entertained and the entry will automatically transfer to the 2021 event.
